Fenerbahce president Ali Kok was attacked on the pitch by Goztepe fans during Saturday’s 2-2 draw in the Turkish Super League.

    Reports from Turkey indicate that Kok joined the away fans after some were denied entry to the pitch. Before returning to the pitch in the fifth minute of the second half UFABET  

    A fan jumped onto the pitch and pushed him to the ground, then tried to punch him again. But security intervened. The incident angered Goztepe fans, who threw bottles of water at the security guards.

    After the game, Fenerbahce TV issued a statement saying: “We are witnessing football terrorism. This situation is extremely dangerous.”

    Meanwhile, Goztepe hit back, saying: “During the league match against Fenerbahce in our stadium. It is absolutely unacceptable to enter the area reserved for authorized personnel. Despite warnings from our CEO. While the match was still ongoing, provoking our fans.”

    Violence in Turkish football has been a constant. With referee Faruk Koca being attacked by Ankaragucu club president last season. Forcing him to be taken to hospital and undergo surgery for a fractured eye socket.

Fenerbahce’s win kept them within two points of league leaders and Istanbul rivals Galatasaray, while they are now 30 points clear of third-placed Trabzonspor.
