Carragher said: “I’m a big fan of Raheem as a player but this statement is ridiculous! We’ll see what happens.”
“No need to make any statements, especially an hour before the game starts! Just play well.”
As Redknapp said: “He had to make that statement. He said come back two weeks ago, you know? That’s good for him.”
“He didn’t go to the Euros. If he wants to come back two weeks earlier. There’s no need to make a big announcement – just keep improving. He hasn’t played well since he came to Chelsea. When he started, he wasn’t good enough.”
“So if the manager doesn’t want you to play, then do your job. You don’t have to come out and have the agent do that, especially on a game day. I think it’s ridiculous. Just spend your time doing well.”
